Using Flex 3 Builds in Flex Builder

Nightly and stable builds are meant to be used in Flex Builder by adding them as an Installed SDK. Please note that the release of a milestone build will usually have an associated automatic update to Flex Builder that will include all relevant files. The latest milestone is 3.2 and there is an associated Flex Builder 3.0.2 update available. Please make sure to upgrade Flex Builder to 3.0.2 for later SDK builds.

See the Flex Builder documentation for instructions on how to add a downloaded SDK.

Please make sure to review this page if you wish to target Flash Player 10 Beta.

If your application uses Flex Builder Professional features such as data visualization components or automated testing, you will need to copy those elements from the latest milestone SDK that came with Flex Builder into your newly downloaded SDK. The relevant files that you need to copy are:

  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/libs/automation*.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/libs/datavisualization.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/locale/en_US/automation*.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/locale/en_US/datavisualization_rb.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/locale/ja_JP/automation*.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/locale/ja_JP/datavisualization_rb.swc
  • <sdkdir>/frameworks/rsls/datavisualization_3.0.0.477.* (or updated build numbers for later builds)
  • <sdkdir>/fbpro (if you care about source)

For 3.0.1 users, we have updated the cacheable RSL for 3.0.1 datavisualization and it can be found here.

For 3.0.2 users, the latest cacheable RSLs are in the build itself.
